In today's world where cartoon characters lack personality and look very much the same (round and soft white big eyes), Ren and Stimpy were a blast of emotions expressed through motion and face reactions.

Nice work :) maybe new cartoon shows should learn somethins of the old school.

The generation of animators that worked on Ren and Stimpy was the last to have direct contact with classic cartoons wich had great technical skill, they knew how to use the strong aspecsts of the medium and were also made by people who were well read and took a punch to the face. This is something that many people in our generation lack and has robbed us of our ability to make good stories.
That and networks looking to make shows quickly and very cheap.
